The Black Girl’s Guide to Intermittent Fasting & Nutrition
As of the writing of this book, I have completed 1,410 days of Intermittent Fasting. I have fasted for a total of 26,573 hours. 78% of my life over the last three and a half years has been spent in a fasted state.
Fasting has completely changed my life. I shudder to think what physical, mental, spiritual, or energetic state I would be in if I hadn’t begun my Intermittent Fasting journey. I would still have hypertension and be on medication. I may still be grappling with the pain of my childhood abuse. I may still be searching for my personal freedom and struggling to find my voice. I would continue to define myself by societal standards that leave me internally conflicted. I would still use food to cope with my emotions, and I would still avoid my reflection in the mirror. Fasting is THE game changer.
This book is divided into two parts: The Foundation of Fasting and The Foundation of Nutrition. Part I discusses in detail the essence of Intermittent Fasting, answering the most basic questions; What is Intermittent fasting? What is the best method of Intermittent fasting? What happens to the body while Intermittent fasting, and what are the benefits of Intermittent Fasting? Part II delves into the foundation of nutrition and seeks to squelch myths to reveal truth. This will result in increased confidence to make food choices that promote health. Combined, Part I and II provide the ultimate guide to becoming the best version of yourself, the woman of your dreams; a woman you will fall madly and deeply in love with, one hour of Intermittent Fasting at a time.
