Thank you for downloading this book! I am so excited to teach you the fundamental principles and strategies of detoxing. My goal was to make this book as simple and straightforward as possible, providing you with the knowledge and tools necessary to bring transformative and lasting change to your overall health and wellbeing through detoxing.
I will begin by explaining what a detox is and why we need to detox. I will discuss the role toxins play in the root cause development of chronic disease and premature aging. I will then explain why detoxing is NOT something you do for a few days or weeks with various products or supplements. Detoxing is a lifestyle that encompasses healthy, sustainable habits that can be incorporated into your daily and weekly regimens for the rest of your life. I will then remind you of the often-forgotten magnificence of our bodies and reveal one of the best kept secrets in medicine. This will create a powerful paradigm shift in the way you view your body and your role in maintaining its health.
The next topic will include a discussion on the organs and bodily systems responsible for eliminating toxins. And lastly, I will share the 7 strategies or lifestyle changes that will effectively detox the body. These strategies are time tested and proven to result in weight loss, a youthful, healthful glow, more energy, and improved cognitive function. The 7 strategies are:

Our bodies are not malfunctioning, defective entities that betray us. We have the power to activate the gift of self-healing and create an environment where the body can heal itself. There are practical and simple, yet very effective strategies that can be applied to our everyday life to experience health and healing.

Chapter One: what is a detox?

By definition, detox is a “process or period of time in which one abstains from or rids the body of toxic or unhealthy substances”.
Detox is a buzz word often used in health and wellness circles and conversations. “I need to detox” is often said when we feel bloated, tired, or just plain blah! We intuitively know we need to do something about our health and that something by default becomes a detox. You may also hear the word “cleanse” used interchangeably with detox. But most of us don’t really know what it truly means.
When steps are taken to eliminate toxins via the liver, kidneys, lymphatic system, and skin, that is a detox. When steps are taken to eliminate toxins from the digestive system via the colon, that is a cleanse. Essentially, detoxing and cleansing involve eliminating toxins from the body via the following organs/systems:
- Liver
- Kidneys
- Lymphatic system
- Digestive system (colon)
- Skin
Chapter Two: why we need to detox

Close your eyes and imagine yourself in your kitchen. Imagine that you cook breakfast and then leave. A few hours later, you fix lunch and then leave. You come back again to make dinner and then leave. In between cooking meals, you do not wash a dish, clean up a crumb, wipe down the stove or counter, or put anything away. Now, imagine you do this day after day, week after week, month after month and year after year. What would your kitchen look like if you never cleaned it after cooking? It would be absolutely disgusting.

This is what happens to our bodies when we are exposed to toxins and chemicals day after day, week after week, month after month and year after year and they are never eliminated from the body. Our cells, tissues, organs, and systems become overburdened. This accumulation of toxins leads to dis-ease and illness. The aging process is accelerated, the immune system is weakened, and an overall decline in emotional and spiritual health occurs. And unfortunately, this toxicity becomes a normal way of life, and it manifests as:
- Chronic fatigue
- Lethargy
- Lack of mental clarity
- Hyperpigmentation of the skin
- Rashes
- Swollen feet, ankles, fingers, or face
- Bloating
- Constipation
- Acne
- Nausea
- Skin discoloration
- Swollen lymph nodes
- Cold hands and feet
- Brain fog
Now, imagine that you clean your kitchen. You wash the dishes, load the dishwasher, take out the trash, clean the oven, wipe down the counters, sweep and mop the floor. Your kitchen looks pristine. It looks good and you feel good.
Detoxing and cleansing are the equivalent of cleaning your kitchen. The 7 strategies we discuss will effectively eliminate toxins from your body and repair any defective and diseased parts of cells.
