“I’m going to tell it like it is. I hope you can take it like it is”
Malcolm X
While watching the Toni Morrison documentary on Hulu, she said something that resonated deeply with my own personal black nationalist/black radical ideology. She explained that her father believed that white people were irredeemable. I believe the same. In fact, its not just a belief, as beliefs can be formed and undergirded by incomplete truths, half truths and outright lies smothered with an emotionalism that stifles a real sense of reality. The stance that white society is irredeemable is based on facts, and an overwhelming amount of evidence…402 years worth to be exact.
Racism and white supremacy is not some unfortunate illness white people inexplicable suffer from. White people are not victims to their whiteness. They knew and continue to know exactly what they have been doing for the last 402 years. We need to stop treating racism as if its a condition that can’t be helped. It is a conscious, systemic choice that they willingly and wholeheartedly participate in.
If white society truly desired to be and do better, they would. They don’t have the slightest inkling, so they don’t. They continue to oppress, subjugate, dehumanize, murder, discriminate, lie, cheat, and steal to maintain their advantage in life. Because they know, more than most of us that they are the degenerates of humanity and the only way they win is to cling to their racism for dear life. It is the only way they can survive.
There is no moral compss or sense of right and wrong to appeal to when it comes to white society. Dr. King learned that the hard way. He eventually said, “I must cofess that dream I had turned into a nightmare…some of the old optimism was a little superficial and must be tempered with a solid realism…” People are who they are and they rarely change. White society as a whole is no exception.
Furthermore, it is not Black people’s jobs to educate white people on their “whiteness”, implict bias or any of the other BS jargon used to cover up the truth. Dr. King said, “All whites whether they consciously know it or not are racist”. Again, racism is not some unfortunate illness white people suffer from. Ain’t nothing wrong with them, they just WHITE!
